PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The data show that whilst the properties of the substance meet the criteria for Persistence, P/vP, they do not meet the specific criteria detailed in Annex XIII for bioaccumulation and toxicity and therefore 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol is not classified as PBT and vPvB, a conclusion supported by PBT Working Group (TC NES Subgroup on Identification of PBT and vPvB substances, ECB Summary Fact Sheet, PBT Working Group- PBT List No. 13, 29 March 2007) and by an assessment of the Belgium Authority 2015 (attached).
