Abiotic degradation:

The constituents of the substance don not have functional groups subject to hydrolysis. Therefore, hydolysis is not excpected.

Biodegradation:

The constituents of the UVCB substance are adsorptive and poorly water soluble. The UVCB substance is poorly biodegradable in a ready biodegradability test. Comparable degradation rates are expected for biodegradation in surface water, sediment and soil.

Bioaccumulation:

In a weight-of-evidence approach balancing different QSAR estimations and experimental data of representative constituents and a substance similar to a constituent, significant accumulation of the certain constituents of the UVCB substance in organisms are expected. It is concluded that the BCF is < 2000. As worst case the experimental value of 1730 L/kg is used for the CSA.

Transport and distribution:

The adsorption/desorption partition coefficient of >3 indicates immobility in soil and adsorption to suspended particles for the components of the UVCB substance. Thus, the UVCB substance will mainly distribute to soil and sediment.
