Description of key information

The substance is highly flammable liquid. (derived from flash point and boilling point)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
flammable

Additional information

The study does not need to be conducted, because the flammability is derived from flash point and boiling point. Also, based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not predicted. Additionally, the substance is a liquid and is therefore not tested for self-heating properties. No tests for self-reactive substances and mixtures are conducted as there are no chemical groups present in the molecule associated with explosive or self reactive properties.

The flash point is <23 °C and the boiling point >35 °C. Therefore, the substance classifies as Category 2 (highly flammable liquids).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the available information the test substance is classified as Flam. Liquid 2, H225: Highly flammable liquid and vapour, as in accordance with EU Classification, Labeling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation No. 1272/2008.
