Description of key information
One key study is available on long-term toxicity of CS2 to fish. The study was carried out in a closed system with Brachydanio rerio. The 8-d NOEC was 1 mg/L. Another study was carried out with one high concentration (100 mg/L) and yielded only qualitative results.

A long term fish study was conducted for Brachydanio rerio. The study was carried out with special precautions to avoid evaporation losses of CS2. Given the very short evaporation half life of CS2 in watery systems a 21 day study was not feasible.
The 8-d NOEC for Brachydanio rerio is 1 mg/L.
