Additional information

Three studies conducted according to OECD 203 guideline are available on the acute toxicity to fish for hydrocarbons, C6-C7, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, <5% n-hexane (CEFIC 1995, Shell 1994, 1995). The acute toxicity, as measured by mortality to rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), was evaluated in freshwater by using water accomodated fractions (WAFs). Under the conditions of these studies, the test substance, hydrocarbons, C6-C7, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, <5% n-hexane, produced acute lethal toxicity to Oncorhynchus mykiss at 11.4 mg/L (CEFIC 1995),12 mg/L (Shell 1994), and 22 -46 mg/L (Shell 1995) based on nominal loadings of the test substance in water.
