Description of key information

The information regarding the potssium hydrogen oxalate has been provided by read-across from oxalic acid.
Goldfish were exposed to oxalic acid during 48 h. The 48h LC0 values were 100 and 250 mg/l, 48 h LC50 values were 160 and 325 mg/l and the 48 h LC100 values were 250 and 400 mg/l.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
160 mg/L

Additional information

The result is from the chemically similar oxakic acid, EC205 -634 -3.

A 48 h toxicity and a 96 h toxicity test was carried out. Although generally preference would be given to 96 h toxicity tests for short term toxicity to fish, in this case the 48h toxicity test was selected, because: a) this was the best test (best described) and b) the observed LC50 was the lowest observed value.
