Description of key information

After evaporation or exposure to the air, the product will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Based on a calculation using AOPWIN v1.92, citronellol is indirectly photodegraded by reaction with hydroxyl radicals in the atmosphere with a half-life (t1/2) of about 3.9 hours at a rate constant of 0.00000000009841 cm³/molecule-sec. For the calculation a 24 hour day and a mean OH radical concentration of 5.0E05 radicals per cm³ were taken into account.
