Description of key information

- EU Method C.19: Adsorption coefficient (Koc): > 4.27 x 10e5; log 10 Koc > 5.63 [the limit value of 5.63 is based on the retention time of the reference substance DDT].
- Estimation by calculation [PCKOWIN, v1.66 (US EPA)]: The adsorption coefficient of the test material has been estimated to be greater than log10 Koc 5.37 by QSAR calculation. Only a limit value could be achieved by this method as the original partition coefficient from which the value derived was a limit value itself. By computer estimation the adsorption coefficient of the test material was estimated to be in the range log10 Koc 2.63 to 7.70.

Additional information

A study was performed according to EU Method C.19 (HPLC method) in which the adsorption coefficient for the whole substance was reported to be greater than 4.27E+05 (log Koc>5.63) (O’Connor and Mullee, 2006).

Moreover, an estimation by calculation was performed [PCKOWIN, v1.66 (US EPA)]: The adsorption coefficient of the test material has been estimated to be greater than log10 Koc 5.37 by QSAR calculation. Only a limit value could be achieved by this method as the original partition coefficient from which the value derived was a limit value itself. By computer estimation the adsorption coefficient of the test material was estimated to be in the range log10 Koc 2.63 to 7.70.
