Description of key information

Dipotassium persulfate was not tested for auto flammability properties. A read across approach was applied for the test on auto flammability from the category member diammonium persulfate, as this substance shows similar physicochemical properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Dipotassium persulfate was not tested for auto flammability properties. A read across approach was applied to assess auto flammability using data from the category member diammonium persulfate (Giseler, Dr.; Degussa, Study No. 89/02646, 1989), as this substances shows similar physicochemical properties. For diammonium persulfate no self-ignition was observed up to a maximum testing temperature of 600 °C. Furthermore, dipotassium persulfate was determined to decompose at a temperature of ca. 100 °C (Key-001 -Melting point/melting range-Akkim-2009). Thus, it was expected not auto flammable.
