Description of key information

Since the substance forms micelles in water, the water solubility is expressed as the critical micelle concentration (CMC), in this case 3.5 mg/L (pH 7, 23°C).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
3.5 mg/L
at the temperature of:
23 °C

Additional information

Read across. Structural similarities within the Primary Fatty Amine Ethoxylated (PFAEO) category (the substances have almost the same carbon chain distribution). Although the hydrogenated substance is more saturated, this will not have a significant effect on the micelle formation in this case. Furthermore, the molecular weights are in the same range and the distribution between primary, secondary and tertiary nitrogen is similar, that is, consist of tertiary nitrogen.

According to "Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance", the critical micelle concentration (CMC) can be view as the solubility limit.
