Description of key information

The effects of 4-nitro-2-methoxyaniline on the activity of liver enzymes and on the formation of methemoglobin was determined.
Concern about Methemoglobine formation arose from the chemical structure as an aromatic amine. No changes in methemoglobin concetrations in blood of cats were detected.
4-nitro-2-methoxy aniline increased selectively the concentration of CYP1A2 in livers of rats.
