Additional information

Two studies were conducted. The self-ignition temperature at 1013 hPa of propionic acid was determined to be in a range from 440 °C to 485 °C. Several reliable literature sources reported the self-ignition temperature of propionoc acid to be between 465 °C and 485 °C. The result of the recent study which is 440°C was chosen as a worst case view for propionic acid.
