Diethyl carbonate is an organic substance, not a peroxide, containing carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms where the oxygen atoms are bonded only to carbon. Therefore according to "Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance" (ECHA, May 2008) testing does not need to be carried out.
