Additional information

In an OECD guideline closed bottle ready biodegradation screening test, 85% degradation was seen after 28 days when using a micro-organisms seed mixture of synthetic sewage micro-organisms and soil. This and other available studies suggest that there can be a significant time lag before degradation commences and only 26% degradation was seen in this particular study after 10 days of degradation starting. The substance is therefore readily biodegradable but fails to meet the 10 day window.
