First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water. If irritation develops seek medical
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen and hydrogen fluoride.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1.

In the event of a large spill, carefully collect the solid
and tranfer to sealed containers for disposal. Control dust
by damping down with water if necessary, but do not allow
loss of material to drain.

Small spills should be carefully collected for disposal and
the affected area wiped with damp cloths to remove residual
traces. Send cloths for disposal with spilt material.
Disposal should be in accordance with Section 6.0.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Operators will
wear boiler suits, PVC/nitrile gloves and airhoods when
handling the test substance. Vessel manways have local
exhaust ventilation to control dust and vapour levels during
charging. Where local exhaust ventilation is not possible
wear an approved face mask.

Storage: Store in sealed containers in a cool, dry and well
ventilated area.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Fibre-board drums, double lined with anti-static
polyethylene liners and closed with a lever closing ring,

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not technically feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Incineration. No other methods known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the preferred method of destruction.
Incinerate at a suitable facility equipped with waste gas
treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and hydrogen fluoride

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
