Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation: If inhaled, remove from contaminated area. Apply artificial respiration if not breathing.

Eyes: If in eyes, hold eyelids apart and flush continuously with running water. Continue flushing until advised to stop by a doctor or for at least 15 minutes.

Skin: If skin or hair contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush skin and hair with running water. Continue flushing with water until advised to stop by a doctor.

Ingestion: For advice, contact the doctor.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder or appropriate foam

Specific hazard(s): Combustible. May evolve toxic gases (carbon oxides, hydrocarbons) when heated to decomposition. Finely divided dust may form explosive mixture with air.

Advice for firefighters: Evacuate area and contact emergency services. Toxic gases may be evolved in a fire situation. Remain upwind and notify those downwind of hazard. Wear full protective equipment including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) when combating fire. Use waterfog to cool intact containers and nearby storage area.

Hazchem code: None

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Wear personal protective (PPE). Clear area of all unprotected personnel. Contact emergency services where appropriate.

Environmental precautions: Prevent product from entering drains and waterways.

Methods for cleaning up: Contain spillage then collect and place in suitable containers for reuse or disposal. Avoid generating dust.

Handling and storage

Handling: Before use carefully read the product label. Uses of safe working practices are recommended to avoid eye or skin contact and inhalation. Observe good personal hygiene, including washing hands before eating. Prohibit eating, drinking and smoking in contaminated areas.

Storage: Store at room temperature. Keep container tightly closed in a dry, well ventilated area. Remove from incompatible substances and food stuff. Ensure containers are adequately labelled and tightly closed when not in use.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Technical protection measures: Avoid inhalation. Use in well ventilated areas.

Hand protection: Wear PVC or rubber gloves

Body protection: When using large quantities or where heavy contamination is likely wear coveralls.

Eye/ face protection: Wear dust-proof goggles

Respiratory protection: Where an inhalation risk exists, wear a Class P1 (particulate) respirator

Stability and reactivity

Chemical Stability: Stable under recommended conditions of storage

Possibility of hazardous reactions: Polymerisation will not occur.

Conditions to avoid: Avoid heat, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources

Incompatible materials: Incompatible with oxidising agents (e.g. hypochlorites) and acids (e.g. nitric acid)

Hazardous decomposition products: May evolve carbon oxides and hydrocarbons when heated to decomposition.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment: Ensure product is covered with moist soil to prevent dust generation and dispose of to approved council landfill. Contact the manufacturer if additional information is required.

Legislation: Dispose of in accordance with relevant local legislation.
