Description of key information

Data waived because there are not chemical groups associated with pyrophoric properties or with flammability on contact with water properties present in (E)-anethole.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Pyrophoricity

There are no structural alerts in chemical structure of the (E)-anethole molecule which may indicate that displays pyrophoric properties. According toGuidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance (ECHA), pyrophoricity can be waived based on a consideration of the structure.

Flammability on contact with water

(E)-anethole is not expected to ignite or liberate flammable gases on contact with water, because its molecular structure does not contain groups that indicate potential reactivity with water. Soon the basis of the criteria established in theGuidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a Endpoint specific guidance, this test does not need to be conducted.
