Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice: Move out of dangerous area. Consult a physician and show the safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
Inhalation: Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of dust or fumes from overheating or combustion. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately and wash the affected area with soap and plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Eye contact : Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water, keep eye wide open while rinsing. Remove contact lenses. Protect unharmed eye.
If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
Ingestion: Clean mouth with water and drink plenty of water afterwards. Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages and never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.
Specific hazards during fire fighting: Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.
Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Use personal protective equipment and ensure adequate ventilation.
Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.
If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.
Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).
Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
Handling
Advice on safe handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.
Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Normal measures for preventive fire protection.
Storage
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.

Exposure controls / personal protection
The substance is utilised only as an on-site isolated intermediate used under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Article 17(3) of the REACH Regulation. As such, exposure to the substance is controlled throughout the substance’s lifecycle through the use of sealed, dedicated manufacturing equipment. When the substance is isolated and prior to transfer to subsequent reaction apparatus, it is handled by fully trained workers using appropriate personal and respiratory protective equipment to appropriate national and international standards.
Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at the Manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions is held at the manufacturing site. As the substance is an on-site isolated intermediate, there are no Downstream Users or other actors down the supply chain.
The provision of personal protective equipment and the need to provide engineering control measures should be decided upon by the user as part of a formal exposure risk assessment.
Based upon the available toxicological information the protective measures described below should be regarded as a minimum.
PPE:
Respiratory protection: In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter.
Hand protection: Polyvinyl alcohol or nitrile- butyl-rubber gloves. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive
89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. Before removing gloves clean them with soap and water.
Eye protection: Wear tightly fitting safety goggles.
Skin and body protection: Wear impervious clothing. Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.
Hygiene measures: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. When using do not eat or drink or smoke.
Wash hands before breaks and at the end of the workday.
Stability and reactivity
Conditions to avoid: no data available.
Stability: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.
Materials to avoid: Oxidizing agents and acids and bases.
Hazardous decomposition products: Zinc oxide fumes and carbon oxides.
Hazardous reactions: Note; No decomposition if used as directed.
Disposal considerations
Product: The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil. Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations. Offer surplus and non-recyclable solutions to a licensed disposal company.
Contaminated packaging: Empty remaining contents and dispose of as unused product. Do not re-use empty containers.
