Reference
Endpoint:
bioaccumulation in aquatic species: fish
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation based on log Kow <=3 and a low potential to cross biological membranes

Description of key information

Bioaccumulation: aquatic/sediment: Low potential for bioaccumulation

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance hydrolyses very rapidly to form methylphenylsilanediol and hydrochloric acid. The silanol hydrolysis product, has low log Kow values (<3) and thus low potential for bioaccumulation, and the requirement for testing is waived. The other hydrolysis product is hydrochloric acid, which is an inorganic substance and bioaccumulation is not relevant.
