Methyl benzoate has a low adsorption potential due to its low log Kow < 3 and additional testing is not necessary. The available experimental data from batch equilibrium studies with three soils yielded a maximum Koc of 178 in Podsol. Comparative studies by the HPLC method gave similar Koc values. The maximum value of Koc = 178 obtained in the batch equilibrium study (Von Oepen et al. 1991) is used further in the environmental exposure and risk assessment.
