Additional information

The typical flash point for foots oils is >98-344°C based on read across from other lubricant base oils which are substances with physical chemical properties similar to that of foots oils (CONCAWE, 2010a). A flash point range of 180°C to 199°C was also reported by CONCAWE (2010a). The flash point was determined using the EN ISO 2719, D93 guidelines. Flash points ranging from >115 up to 268°C using ASTM D92 for other lubricant base oils have also been reported (CONCAWE, 1997).
