Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Type of information:
read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
August 24 - November 17, 2011
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Justification for type of information:
Refer chapter 13 for the detailed structural analogue justification.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
read-across: supporting information
Qualifier:

Guideline:
OECD Guideline 104 (Vapour Pressure Curve)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.4 (Vapour Pressure)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
effusion method: by loss of weight or by trapping vaporisate
Remarks:
isothermal thermogravimetric effusion method
Temp.:
20 °C
Vapour pressure:
< 0.002 Pa
Temp.:
25 °C
Vapour pressure:
< 0.004 Pa
Conclusions:
The vapour presure of source sunbstance 3,3 'DDS is estimated to be < 1.5.10-3 Pa at 20°C (293K) and < 4.2.10-3 Pa at 25°C (298K).
Executive summary:

A GLP compliant test was carried out with source substance 3,3 DDS according to Guideline EU method A.4: and OECD Guideline no.104. The isothermal TGA effusion method was applied for the determination of the vapour pressure of 3,3'-DDS. Its vapour pressure was < 1.5.10-3Pa at 20°C (293K) and < 4.2.10-3Pa at 25°C (298K).

No significant weight loss of the test substance was observed below the melting temperature of the test substance (i.e. a relatively low vapour pressure was obtained).

Based on ttest results, the vapour pressure for 3,3'DDS can be estimated to be < 1.5.10-3Pa at 20°C (293K) and < 4.2.10-3Pa at 25°C (298K).

Description of key information

Based on the isothermal TGA effusion method used for the read across substance (3,3'-DDS), the vapour pressure for 4,4'DDS can be estimated to be < 1.5.10-3 Pa at 20°C (293K) and < 4.2.10-3 Pa at 25°C (298K).

Key value for chemical safety assessment
