Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Biodegradation data are available for 1 streams within this category; all data came from ExxonMobil (2004).The data are considered reliable and suitable for assessment. All data showed the test substances to be not readily biodegradable. Biodegradation rate was 7.3 % in 28 days. Data will be read across to other category members.

It is not feasible to perform simulation tests on complex, volatile UVCBs.

BIOWIN QSAR simulated tests were conducted for consituents from this category using Biowin 2, 3, 5 and 6. These QSARs predicted that some of the constituents within the category could potentially be readily biodegradable or biodegrade fast, while a minority of constituents not expected to be rapidly biodegradable.

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

In an OECD 301F ready biodegradation study 1 stream from this category (CAS No: 68921 -67-5) was shown to degrade by 7.3% in 28 days and is therefore not considered readily biodegradable.

BIOWIN QSAR simulated tests were conducted for substances within the category. The Biowin 2 range of results was 0.0558 – 0.9999, Biowin 3 2.33 – 3.5523, Biowin 5 -0.377 – 0.7157, and Biowin 6 0.122 – 0.8799
