Direct photolysis should have only a minor effect on the atmospheric lifetime of dibromomethane due to its very low UV absorption at wavelengths > 290 nm. In the paper of Zhang et. al. kinetics of reaction of hydroxyl radicals with dibromomethane have been determined by discharge flow-resonance fluorescence method over the temperature range of 288 to 368 K. The tropospheric lifetime of dibromomethane has been estimated to be 0.29 years (105.9 days).These results are further supported by calculation of the rate constant for the atmospheric reaction between photochemically produced hydroxyl radicals and dibromomethane in the vapor phase using AOP Program v. 1.92 from EPISUITE v. 4.0.
