Description of key information

Dimethyldisulfide has shown not to be toxic to activated sludge up to the highest tested concentration of 1000 mg/L in a OECD 209 compliant study.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
1 000

Additional information

According to OECD 209 test guideline (1984), dimethyldisulfide did not show toxicity (inhibition of respiration) up to the highest tested concentration 1000 mg/L. EC20 and EC50 are therefore higher than this high level.
