Additional information

The flammability of 2-Methyl-p-phenylenediaminesulfate (Haarbraun) was determined following EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids)).

A cluster of the pure test item with a length of 250 mm, a width of 20 mm and a height of 10 mm was prepared in aluminium form. The cluster was ignited at one end with a hot flame from a gas burner. The test was run in single replicate at room temperature.

During the 2 min of the ignition attempt no ignition could be observed and the test material immediately discoloured black and glowed after contact with the flame. The test material showed no independent reaction and all reactions stopped immediately after removing the flame.

Haarbraun was non flammable.

This flammability test is classified as acceptable, and satisfies the guideline requirements for EU Method A.10.
