Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The adsorption coefficient (Koc) of decanal was determined to be log Koc 2.9, Koc 794 (OECD 121, HPLC screening method). Based on the test results the substance is not considered to be highly adsorptive indicating that soil and sediment are not expected to be the main target components for exposure assessment. Indeed, the CSA using the Koc value from the HPLC screening study demonstrates safe use for the sediment and soil compartments. Therefore, further studies on adsorption/desorption are not required.

In addition, no further distribution modelling was considered necessary as this study is not a standard information requirement in REACH and the exposure assessment of concentrations in all environmental compartments is performed in section 9 of the CSA.
