No studies investigating the adsorption/desorption behaviour of Bis(2-(2-butoxyethoxy)ethoxy) methane (CAS 143-29-3) are available. Using KOCWIN Program (v2.00), a log Koc value of 1.32 was calculated based on the molecular conductivity index (MCI). The result of the QSAR calculation is considered appropriate although the substance is not completely within the applicability domain of the QSAR model. The substance contains more aliphatic ether fragments (6) than substances in the training set (2). However, the reduction of log Koc based on the aliphatic ether groups is considered reasonable and is reflect by the very high water solubility (16.8 g/L) of the substance. Hence, adsorption of the substance to solid soil is not expected.
