Description of key information

For the melting point of the substance , a medium value of 1856°C will be considered in the registration dossier.

Additional information

On the basis of Annex XI, section 1.2, a weight of evidence approach can be used, based on two peer-reviewed data from handbooks. The melting point of the substance is reported to be 1857°C (Merck Index,2001) and 1855 °C (Lide,2009). Although only two values are available it can be safely concluded that the melting point of Zirconium is between 1857°C and 1855°C. A medium value of 1856°C

has been determined as key value.
