Materials and methods

Model:
calculation according to Mackay, Level I
Calculation programme:
The 1997 EQC model, at Level I
Media:
air - biota - sediment(s) - soil - water

Details on test material:
Same with the substance notified in the section 1 of this dossier.

Study design

Test substance input data:
The physicochemical properties entered were as given in section 4; Koc is estimated by the program from Kow as 196, which is sufficiently close to the value of 174 used in the assessment that no adjustment is required to the value of Koc.
Environmental properties:
The reaction half-lives have been set at negligible reaction in all compartments. For purposes of examining the importance of the value of Kow and Koc, the emissions were to air, water and soil.

Results and discussion

Percent distribution in media

Air (%):
0
Water (%):
69.8
Soil (%):
29.6
Sediment (%):
0.66
Other distribution results:
The results for EQC level I (the simplest model) indicate that water, soil and sediment are all significant should TCPP be stable in the environment. Furthermore, the outputs of the model are sensitive to the Kow (i.e. Koc) input.

Applicant's summary and conclusion
