Description of key information

The mean particle size, number in volume, of ETU (imiodazolidine-2-thione) test item, is determined to be 26.4µm, with 10% of particles presenting a diameter less than 10µm, and 10% of particles presenting a diameter larger than 45µm.

A study was performed at Laboratoire Qualité & Soutien Exploitation de MLPC International to investigate the particle size distribution (granulometry) on one batch of the test substance ETU (imidazolodine-2-thione). The study was conducted according to ISO 13320- 1 “International standard for Laser Diffraction Measurements – Principles of Laser diffraction” and in accordance with OECD Test Guideline 110. The mean particle size, number in volume, of ETU test item, is determined to be 26.4µm, with 10% of particles presenting a diameter less than 10µm, and 10% of particles presenting a diameter larger than 45µm.

Same information is found by a second test (Sieving)

After the preliminary test, it was shown that the majority of the particles was lower than 100 μm. So, the principal sieving was made lower than 100 μm.After the main test, it was shown that the majority of the particles (70.8%) was lower than 90 μm but higher than 45 μm.
