Description of key information

One reliable 35 d early life stage study on chronic toxicity to zebrafish (danio rerio) of the substance EDTA-CaNa2 is available from BASF. This is therefore the key study. The NOEC is >= 35.1 mg/L based on nominal concentration, expressed as EDTA-CuNa2 this would be 37.2 mg/L.

Dose descriptor:
NOEC
Remarks:
The long-term toxicity test was performed with EDTA-CaNa2. For the EDTA-CuNa2 dossier the results was recalculated using the ratio of the MW's. 35.1 * 397.7/374.27 = 37.3 mg/L
Effect concentration:
>= 37.3 mg/L

Additional information

Since no chronic adverse effects have been determined in this study the NO(A)EC is a >= value, which can't be expressed in the box above. The NOAEC is >= 36.9 mg/L, based on mean measured concentration of EDTA-CaNa2, but >= 35.1 mg/L based on nominal concentration, or expressed as EDTA-CuNa2 >= 37.3 mg/L.
