When released to the atmosphere, 1-vinylhexahydro-2H-azepin-2 -one will be slowly degraded by photochemical reaction with OH-radicals and ozone, respectively. In contact with acidic water water 1 -vinylhexahydro-2H-azepin-2 -one will hydrolyse rapidly, whereas in neutral water no hydrolysis is expected. Hence, hydrolysis is only an important fate path for 1-vinylhexahydro-2H-azepin-2 -one in an acidic environment.
