Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
When using do not eat or drink
Do not breathe dust
Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing
Harmful if swallowed
Irritating to eyes and skin
Low acute oral toxicity although ingestion will cause irritation of the gastrointestinal tract
and may result in nausea and diarrhea. May cause mild mechanical irritation to eyes, skin
and mucous membranes. May cause irritation from allergic reaction, especially to people
that have a history of allergic reaction.
Eye contact:
Do not delay. Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15
minutes. Call a physician immediately.
Skin contact:
Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Wash off immediately with soap
and plenty of water.
Ingestion:
Do not delay. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. If ingested can lead to
irritation of the mouth, irritation of the throat, irritation of the digestive tract, vomiting. Clean
mouth with water and afterwards drink plenty of water. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. If breathing but unconscious, place in the recovery position. The
below results are based on testing performed on representative samples of a mixture
similar to this product.
Inhalation:
Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Protection of FIrst-aiders:
Avoid breathing dust or vapor. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable Extinguishing Media
Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. alcohol-resistant foam.
Contains organic solvents. Water spray. Dry chemical. Dry powder.
Specific Hazards Arising from the Chemical
Hazardous combustion products. Carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), dense black smoke.
Hydrogen chloride gas.
Protective Equipment and Precautions for Firefighters
Standard procedure for chemical fires. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Evacuate area and fight fire from a safe distance. Wear
self contained breathing apparatus for fire fighting if necessary. Keep containers and surroundings cool with water spray.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe dust.
Environmental precautions:
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system. Try to prevent the
material from entering drains or water courses. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Prevent spreading over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers)
Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder,
universal binder, sawdust). Prevent product from entering drains.
Handling and storage
Handling:
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Avoid dust formation. Do not
breathe dust. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
Storage:
Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat. Polyethylene containers.
