Description of key information

The long-term toxicity test to invertebrates revealed a NOEC of 320 mg/L for D. magna. In addition, the US EPA ECOSAr QSAR predicts for Diglyme a LC 50, 96 h, fish of ca. 15787 mg/L. Assuming that the chronic fish toxicity would be by a factor of 10 lower than the LC 50, 96 h this would lead to a chronic NOEC fish for Diglyme of 1579 mg/L. It is supported by US EPA ECOSAR estimation of the chronic NOEC fish of ca. 1392 mg/L which is regarded to be non-toxic. Based on the results of the long-term invertebrate study and the chronic QSAR result, a chronic fish test is not justified because of animal welfare reasons.
