Description of key information

The substance is not pyrophoric and is not flammable in contact with water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Flammability – pyrophoricity: The substance does not contain known pyrophoric groups or compounds as listed in Bretherick's Handbook of Reactive Chemical Hazards.

Flammability – on contact with water: The substance does not contain groups that might lead to the evolution of flammable gas when coming into contact with water or damp air. Nor does the substance contain alkali metals, alkyl aluminum derivatives, alkyl metals, metal hydrides, metal phosphides or metal powder.

Tests according to EU method A.12 (Flammability (Contact with Water)) and EH Method A.13 (Pyrophoric Properties of Solids and Liquids) are therefore scientifically not justified.
