Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: United Nations Recommendations on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria for substances of Class 4, Division 4.2.
Deviations:
not specified
GLP compliance:
yes
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

Appearance before test: White crystalline solid (powder)

Appearance after test: The sample had hardened to a solid mass, with no change in size.

Conclusions:
The test substance was assessed for self heating according to UN Recommendations on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria for substances of Class 4, Division 4.2. It was determined that sodium pentaborate granular should be classified as "not a self-heating substance of Class 4, Division 4.2".
Executive summary:

Auto flammability test was performed according to the guideline 'UN recommendation on transportation of dangerous goods, manual of test and criteria for substance of class 4'. No self ignition obeserved under the test condition. Thus it is determined that test item should be classified as 'not a self-heating substance of Class 4, Division 4.2'.
