Additional information

Available data on toxicity to aquatic algae

Two bibliographic references with reliability (2) reported experimental results on toxicity to aquatic algae. Those experimental results were obtained by tests performed according to experimental procedures similar to this guideline (i.e. DIN 38412), or according to an acceptable scientific methodology. Ecotoxicity values like 72h-EC50 and 96h-EC50 are reported for two freshwater algae species.

Ecotoxicity data on Selenastrum capricornatum

Experimental results were obtained with the 96 -h freshwater green alga growth inhibition tests. The results on Selenastrum capricornatum are the following:

2,4 -TDA: 96h-EbC50=78.1 µmol/L (=9.53 mg/L) (nominal concentration)

Ecotoxicity data on Desmodesmus subspicatus

Experimental results were obtained by tests performed according to OECD guideline 201 or equivalent to this one. Ecotoxicity values (72h-EC50) measured on a freshwater species (Desmodesmus subspicatus) are the following:

2,4-TDA: 72h-EbC50=126mg/L (nominal concentration)
