Description of key information

Vinyl Neodecanoate was tested for biodegradation potential by three O.E.C.D. Testing Guideline protocols: O.E.C.D. No. 301B, Modified Strum, 301D, Closed Bottle and 302C Inherent Biodegradation: Modified MITI Test (II). The test substance was not biodegradable under any of the test conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

With O.E.C.D. Testing Guideline no. 301D Closed Bottle, 14 - 17% of Vinyl Neodecanoate was biodegraded within 28 days. Biodegradation of the test substance was 3 - 5% after 28 days under O.E.C.D. Testing Guideline no. 302C Inherent Biodegradation: Modified MITI Test (II) conditions. The O.E.C.D. 301B Modified Strum study conditions were not considered to be valid for the volatile Vinyl Neodecanoate.
