Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Description of key information

The test substance was concluded not to have oxidising properties following an assessment on the chemical structure of the substance and taking into consideration Appendix 6 of UN ‘Manual of Tests and Criteria’ for the use of screening procedures to assess oxidising substances, and the ECHA Endpoint specific guidance (R.7a).

The test substance is considered not to contain any chemical groups indicating oxidising properties as the oxygen present in the molecule is chemically only bounded to carbon. Further testing was omitted and the test substance is concluded to be incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test substance does not need to be classified as an oxidising substance as based on the chemical structure the substance does not contain any chemical groups indicating oxidising properties.
