Reference
Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2009-09-15 to 2009-10-01
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The crystalline strucutres were identified by X-ray diffraction of the powdered sample, using a BRUKER Theta-Theta model D8 Advance diffractometer. Using the resulting diffractogram, the mineralogical species present are identified using the JCPDS files for pure crystalline phases.
GLP compliance:
not specified
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
solid
Form:
powder
Colour:
yellow
Odour:
odourless
Substance type:
inorganic
Conclusions:
The crystalline structures identified in the sample are listed below:
Major phase:
Bnid = Bnidheimite (Pb2Sb2O7).
Minor phases:
Cer=Cerianite (CeO2).
PbO = Lead oxide (PbO).
Very minor phases:
Co = Corundum (Al2O3).
Clin = Clinocervantite (SbO2)
AlOP = Aluminium phosphate
(AlPO4) NaOSb = Sodium oxide and antimony
(Na2Sb4O7).
CaHOPb = Calcium hydroxide and
lead (Ca2Pb2O5(OH)2)
