Reference
Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
From 08 April 2010 to 21 May 2010
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: compliant to GLP and testing guideline; adequate coherence between data, comments and conclusions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.9 (Flash-Point)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
closed cup
Flash point:
-8 °C
Atm. press.:
98.2 kPa

Preliminary test:

Atmospheric pressure: About 98.3 kPa

Relative humidity: About 41% of saturated air

Tested temperature range: Between - 9.3 and 30.0 °C (corrected values)

The flash point was observed between - 9.3 and - 3.8 °C (corrected values).

Remark: During this preliminary test, as the temperature tested was much higher than the flash point temperature obtained, a continuous, growing flame was observed and by inadvertence was not considered as a flash point. Then, the test item was cooled and the flash point find between - 9.3 and - 3.8 °C.

Conclusions:
The flash point of the test item was: - 8.0 ± 0.5 °C (corrected value).
