Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
In case of inhalation: Remove casualty to fresh air and keep at rest. Inform a doctor.
In case of contact with skin: wash immediately with plenty of water. Seek medical advice if skin irritation persists.
In case of contact with eyes: rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguish fires with dry powder or dry sand. Water and foam are unsuitable extinguishing media
:
Dangerous fumes are released during fire.
In case of fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing
Accidental release measures
Do not inhale. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Use personal protection equipment.
Avoid release into the sewage network or the aquatic environment.
Keep away from water, take up with dry material while wearing respiratory equipment and protective clothing.
Handling and storage
Avoid dust formation. Ensure good ventilation when handling large amounts. Take precautionary measures against build-up of electrostatic charge. Avoid impact, friction and build-up of electrostatic charge; risk of ignition! Earth tanks and plant properly. Use antistatically treated equipment. Instructions for protection against fire and explosion: keep away from sources of ignition - no smoking. Take preventive measures against build-up of electrostatic charge (earth during transfer). Avoid jolts and friction. Avoid dust formation.
Keep only in the original container in a cool, well-ventilated place away from acids.
Keep container closed and sealed. Protect against atmospheric moisture. Store and handle under nitrogen. Protect against heat.

Exposure controls / personal protection
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each Manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Manufacturer/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.
Stability and reactivity
Shock sensitive. Take precautionary measures against build-up of electrostatic charge.
Disposal considerations
Dangerous decomposition product: hydrogen sulphide
