Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
IC50 (24h) = 48 mg/L for the substance Dimethylamine (CAS-No. 124-40-3, EC-No. 204-697-4); the test result is also applicable for Dimethylamine hydrochloride (CAS-No. 506-59-2, EC-No. 208-046-5), which is a near analogue.
Executive summary:

Calamari D. et.al. performed an experiment according to AFNOR, Norme Expérimentale N.F.T. 90-301 (1974) to test the acute toxicity of dimethylamine (and other amines) to aquatic invertebrate Daphnia magna in 1980. This test establishes the 24 h IC50 (immobilization concentration for 50 % of the animals at 24 h) in hard water (320 mg CaCO3/L). As result an IC50 (24h) of 48 mg/L is reported for Dimethylamine.

Hence, the substance Dimethylamine hydrochloride (CAS-No. 506-59-2, EC-No. 208-046-5), which is a near analogue to Dimethylamine (CAS-No. 124-40-3, EC-No. 204-697-4) should also have an IC50 of 48 mg/L.
