Additional information

Abiotic degradation by indirect photochemical processes may be a degradation pathway for Dioctadecyl 3,3'-thiodipropionate as suggested by an estimated half-life of 1.86 hours for the reaction with OH-radicals using AOP v1.92 (12 h day-1; 1.5*E06 OH- cm-3). Therefore, the product could be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes if evaporation or exposure to air should occur notwithstanding that the vapour pressure is low. No experimental data on hydrolsis are available but the substance contains functional groups (ester groups) which might be subsject to hydrolysis.
