1,2,4 triazole is reported to have no effect at the highest concentration tested for fish (short-term and long-term toxicity tests) and daphnia (short-term). And EC50 -3h was determined to be higher than 1000 mg/L for microorganisms.

However, the substance was found to be harmful to freshwater algae with EC50 of 45 mg/L and NOEC of 3.5 mg/L.
