Description of key information

Acetyl chloride hydrolyses very fast to acetic acid & hydrochloric acid. Data on acetic acid and hydrochloric acid is provided.
Key studies:
Acetic acid: 96-h EC50 for Navicula seminulum based on growth rate is 73.4-73.9 mg/l.
Hydrochloric acid: 72 h EC50 of pH 5.1 (0.78 mg/l) for Selenastrum capricornutum (based on biomass) and 72 h EC50 of pH 5.3 (based on growth rate).
