Solution of the unretained compoundA 1.07 g/l stock solution of thiourea (>99%, Acros Organics, Geel, Belgium) in methanol was used. The stock solution was 100-times diluted in methanol and analysed. The thiourea blank solution was methanol.Reference substance solutionsStock solutions of the reference substances at concentrations of approximately 1 g/l in methanol were used. The stock solutions were 100-times diluted in methanol and analysed. The blank solution for the mixture of reference substances was methanol. Reference substances used:Acetanilide, Atrazine, Monuron, 2,5-Dichloroaniline, Benzoic acid phenylester, Fenthion, PhenanthreneTest solutionA 18.6 g/l stock solution of the test substance was prepared in methanol. The stock solution was diluted in methanol to obtain a test solution at a concentration of 497 mg/l. The test substance blank solution was methanol.Note: with preliminary research it was observed that the test substance was unstable in 30/70 (v/v) methanol/water. According to this, pure methanol was selected as end solution of the reference and test substance solutions. It was found that the methanol end solution had no effect on the capacity factors and, therefore, no effect on the Koc values of the test substance.InjectionsThe reference substance and test substance solutions were injected in duplicate. Blank solutions were analysed by single injection.

- Details on results (HPLC method):
- The log Koc values at neutral pH of Ebecryl®P116 radiation curing resins based on soil-adsorption-reference data were: Compound I: 0.42 (14% peak area)Compound II: 1.17 (62% peak area)CompoundIII: 1.51 (5.0% peak area)Compound IV: 2.12 (17% peak area)Compound V: 2.49 (2.3% peak area) In summary, the log Koc of the test substance, Ebecryl®P116 radiation curing resins was between 0.42 and 2.49.
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- Under the test conditions, the log Koc of the test substance was established to range from 0.42 to 2.49.
- Executive summary:
A study was conducted to determine the adsorption of the test substance according to OECD Guideline 121 and EU Method C.19. The HPLC method was used for determination of adsorption coefficient of the test substance.
The test substance was unstable when diluted in methanol/water, therefore only methanol was employed as a diluent.
Under the test conditions, the log Koc of the test substance was established to range from 0.42 to 2.49. The log Koc of the two major peaks (in % peak area) were 1.17 (62% peak area) and 2.12 (17% peak area).

Description of key information
A study was conducted to determine the adsorption/desorption of amine synergist according to OECD Guideline 121 and EU Method C.19 (HPLC estimation). The test substance was unstable when diluted in methanol/water, therefore only methanol was used as a diluent. The log Koc of the various peaks determined by HPLC was established to range from 0.42 to 2.49. The log Koc of the two major peaks (in % peak area) were 1.17 (62% peak area) and 2.12 (17% peak area) (Oudhoff, 2010). The data suggest low binding to soil.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Koc at 20 °C:
