Additional information

Bis(2-chloroethoxy)methane is not mutagenic based on the results of an Ames test and two in vivo micronucleus tests.

.

Short description of key information:

Four Ames tests are available with bis(2-chloroethoxy)methane two of these studies meets the current guideline and are performed under GLP. These two studies give a negative result. The NTP has performed 2 in vivo micronucleus assays in bone marrow and periferal blood of mice. Both studies were negative.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

An Ames test and two in vivo micronucleus tests show that Bis(2-chloroethoxy)methane is not mutagenic.
