Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Modified Small Vinyl Ester was not toxic to fish up to its solubility limit in water in a 96-hour toxicity study on carp. Furthermore, Modified Small Vinyl Ester is a highly viscous prepolymer, which is placed on the market as an approximately 50% solution in a reactive diluent for industrial use only. When exposed to light, Modified Small Vinyl Ester will polymerise and bind all Modified Small Vinyl Ester and most of the reactive diluent covalently in an extremely stable and highly water insoluble polymer with very low bioavailability in water. Modified Small Vinyl Ester is unlikely to reach water. See the CSA for further details. Thus, direct and indirect exposure of water, and consequently long-term effects are judged to be unlikely.
